Your mountain trip with Mirando al Sur

Moskvin Base Camp, at around 4,360 m, is the recovery base between rotations. Access combines a road journey from Dushanbe to Dzhirgital and a helicopter flight, subject to weather and operational availability.

The team has six previous Pamir expeditions and a published record of over 20 participants on Lenin, over 50 on Razdelnaya and over 70 on Yuhin. That background informs planning without guaranteeing acclimatisation or summits.

Trip itinerary

1. Shared access phase. Arrive in Dushanbe, travel by road to Dzhirgital and fly by helicopter to Moskvin. Day allocation depends on flight connections and operations.
2. Preparation at Moskvin. Organise equipment, camps and rotations, with progressive ascents and returns to Base Camp for recovery.
3. First objective: Korzhenevskaya. Rotations and the planned ascent to 7,105 m, adapted to altitude response and conditions. Both options share this phase.
4. 21-day option. After descent and recovery, departure from Moskvin is planned on day 19 by helicopter to Dzhirgital and road to Dushanbe. The international flight is planned for day 20, arriving in Spain on day 21. Local logistical support organises the return while Mariano remains with the Communism Peak group.
5. 35-day option. Recover at Moskvin after Korzhenevskaya, then assess the second objective: Communism Peak–Ismoil Somoni by the Borodkin ridge and Pamir plateau. The attempt and descent proceed only if recovery, conditions and available time allow.
6. End of the combined expedition. Descend to Base Camp and return via Dzhirgital and Dushanbe within the 35-day plan, allowing for helicopter operational changes.

Duration, season and experience

Frequently asked questions

How do the 21- and 35-day options differ?

The first ends after Korzhenevskaya. The second adds Communism Peak–Ismoil Somoni after recovery at Base Camp. Both durations include outward and return travel from Spain.

Does the shorter option require less technical experience?

No. It remains a 7,000-metre expedition for independent mountaineers, with experience above 6,000 m and glacier, fixed-rope and protected-descent skills.

Does Mariano accompany the shorter return?

The local support team organises that return. Mariano remains with participants continuing to Communism Peak after the shared Korzhenevskaya phase.

Are the prices final?

No. €3,500 and €4,500 per person are indicative amounts for the respective options, subject to updates and a confirmed budget before booking.
