Summer ascent of Veleta with a mountain guide
Explore one of Sierra Nevada’s emblematic summits on a guided high-mountain walking day. In clear weather, Veleta offers wide views across the range and towards its southern slopes.
The planned route runs from Hoya de la Mora towards Loma del Veleta and Las Posiciones, then to the summit before returning. The published itinerary is around 14 km with about 900 metres of ascent.
The technical difficulty is low, but the outing reaches close to 3,400 metres. You should be prepared for a day of mountain walking at altitude; views, pace and route depend on weather and the group.
