Winter ascent of Mulhacén with a mountain guide
Work towards Mulhacén in winter on a two-day guided programme using Poqueira refuge. Choose walking or ski mountaineering and discuss the skills, fitness and equipment required for your option.
The first day meets in Capileira and approaches Poqueira refuge, with the starting access chosen according to conditions. The published approach is around two to three hours, with time to practise winter movement near the refuge.
The second day heads towards Laguna de la Caldera and the planned ascent of Mulhacén before descending to the vehicle. Snow and ice determine the difficulty of the normal route. The itinerary describes an overnight stay at Poqueira on a half-board basis; confirm accommodation and meal costs for your chosen booking.
